Today I got sidetracked from work and started to fill out an application to be an ambassador for a triathlon/sports nutrition company. One of the prompts in the application was “describe your perfect day”. Once I got over how odd a question to base my worthiness of representing the product this was and started to answer, I realized my life is awesome.

My perfect day is one that I have been fortunate enough to realize on multiple occasions.

It would start with a relaxing morning; breakfast with the kids, coffee with Melissa. Then I’d get a workout in; open water swim or hilly bike ride with teammates and friends. Then I’d spend the afternoon with the family at the beach. Later, we’d return to a magically clean house with a kept yard and inviting outdoor living space. I would grill something healthy for dinner and then after the kids go to bed, Melissa and I would share a milk stout for dessert and snuggle up to watch a movie.

With the exception of the housekeeper fairy, my perfect day is just a normal weekend with my family when we don’t have anything else planned. I am pretty lucky.
